Nerd 101
This is how I think. Sunspots are large magnetic anomalies in the sun reflected on its surface as dark spots. Solar flares are associated with sunspots. More sunspots, more solar flares, and vice versa. Solar flares bombard the Earth with solar radiation, and their intensity cycles at around 11 years. The last time solar-flare intensity peaked was around 2002, and likely caused some beautiful Aurora. They are peaking now too. Interestingly, the number of page views on this blog (page views correlate directly with number of blog POSTS, of course) seems to be inversely proportional to sunspot intensity. Is there a relationship? Between posts and sunspots? Between views and sunspots? Between my motivation and sunspots? How does solar activity affect my brain, which runs on electromagnetic energy. How does it affect you?.....

So where's the causality?
Lack of blog pageviews causing sunspots?
Sunspots preventing blog pageviews?
Or is there no causality?
At this point, without calibration data, I have intentionally avoided causality. However, this investigation will certainly continue with other varietal relationships, and maybe we'll crack the code!
