If you ever need a reason to come to east-central Illinois, Allerton is a reason!! We enjoy going to baseball games, or the bookstore, or walks around our neighborhood, but Allerton is a real hidden jewel in the Prairie State. If you came all the way here, and you didn't visit us, but you visited Allerton, we'd be OK with that. Long story short: a long time ago, rich people, middle of nowhere, mansion, artwork, gardens, later donate to University, beautiful. There is also a sister version of Allerton in Hawaii, just in case you'd rather go there.
