dinner guests

We've been waiting.....and waiting.....and waiting all summer for those little buzzing needle-nosed Aves to come along.  Is it too hot?  Is there something wrong with our feeder?  Are our bees distracting them?  Did they simply pass us by?  But then, when we were eating dinner on the back patio one night (as we do nearly every night), a quite little buzz to say hello and now we have daily dusk visitors.  Beautiful little creatures.  Nasty little creatures when they are hungry.  But beautiful.  Usually just two, sometimes more.  I think I'll call the regular duo Maverick and Iceman.... a little friendly, yet vicious, rivalry.
Hello
The anticipation was unnerving.
