lunchtime

We have started the second week of Montessori Habitat school this week.  Seems like the second week is harder than the first (at least for Joan and myself), especially after the long, busy Labor Day weekend (more to come on that later)!  Joan has been the pre-school fashion consultant by setting out clothes every night.  Abby is a beautiful little angel every morning.  I've been packing the lunches every day, and I use it as my way sending a piece of me with her.  Nothing like PB&J to conjure up feelings of nostalgia.  I've been loading her up with a smorgasboard of dietary options.  Last Thursday, packed in her lunch was a PB&J sandwich, a cheese sandwich, a few slices of avocado, fresh raspberries, unsalted cashews, dried apricots, a chocolate turtle, and dried cherries for a mid-morning snack. She often comes home with a few nibbles here and there, and that day she didn't even eat the turtle!!  She's got more will power than her parents!  However, when asked about her favorite part of school, she recently replied, "Eating lunch".  Of course.  Some things never change.

She's probably eating the lunches of other kids whose parents aren't packing as healthily.

But then again, she barely touched the turtle like you said, so who knows?
