early crops

Now we're talkin'-- 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit (24-27 Celcius for you overseas readers), sunny, cool breeze, flowery aromas....all week!! What a great week to work in the garden, go for walks, look at the blooms, and feel the warm sun. We also have a nice crop of garlic coming up. Tasty varieties such as Czechland Race, Chesnok Red, and St. Helens. But did you know about the new strain of garlic we are growing? It's called Feline Gordo. It's really tasty.

Abby, where do you get those unique garlic varieties? All Mommy could find in our catalogs were more common varieties, but we don't get a special garlic catalog (yet!). I'm particularly interested in the furry variety there in the corner. He looks yummy!
